Tilt & Turn uPVC Windows Melbourne
The tilt and turn window is the most versatile window style available in Europe, and for good reason. A single handle controls two completely different opening modes: turn it 90 degrees and the entire sash swings inward like a door for maximum ventilation and easy cleaning; turn it 180 degrees and the top tilts inward a few centimetres for secure, weather-protected ventilation. Novalite manufactures tilt and turn uPVC windows in Melbourne with German multi-point locking hardware and double glazed argon-filled units as standard.

Available in white, anthracite grey, black and all timber look laminate finishes for heritage applications.
Two Opening Modes From One Handle
The defining feature of tilt and turn windows is the dual-mode operation controlled by a single handle. Position 1 (handle horizontal) locks the window closed with multi-point compression sealing at all four sides. Position 2 (handle pointing up) opens the sash fully inward like a door, swinging from the hinge side. Position 3 (handle pointing down) tilts the top of the sash inward by 10-15cm for secure background ventilation. The mechanism is a single concealed European gearbox — robust, reliable and engineered to last decades.
Ideal for Apartments and Multi-Storey
Tilt and turn windows are the standard specification for European apartments and multi-storey buildings for safety and practical reasons. The inward-opening design means window cleaning can be done entirely from inside — a significant safety benefit at height. The tilt mode provides continuous background ventilation without any security risk, even when residents are away. For Melbourne apartments and townhouses, tilt and turn represents the most practical and secure window solution available.
