Timber Look uPVC Windows

Our timber look windows combine the aesthetic warmth of traditional timber with the performance and durability of modern multi-chamber uPVC. Available in every window style we manufacture, the woodgrain lamination is applied uniformly across the profile and will never peel, crack, or require repainting.

Particularly popular in heritage homes, period renovations, and new builds seeking warmth over the industrial aesthetic of white or grey frames. A dual-colour option allows timber look on the interior while maintaining a white or anthracite grey exterior — perfect for homes in strata or with external appearance conditions.

FAQ

Timber Look uPVC — Common Questions

What is timber look uPVC?
Timber look uPVC windows and doors have a UV-stable woodgrain lamination applied to the uPVC profile during manufacturing. The lamination precisely replicates the grain texture and colour of natural timber in finishes including golden oak, rosewood, mahogany and anthracite woodgrain. The result is indistinguishable from timber at a normal viewing distance but requires none of the maintenance timber demands.
Does timber look uPVC require painting or staining?
No. The timber look finish is a permanently bonded lamination, not a surface coating. It will never need painting, staining, sanding or sealing. Timber look uPVC windows can be cleaned with warm soapy water. This is a fundamental advantage over real timber frames, which require repainting every 5-10 years and are prone to cracking, warping and rot.
Will timber look uPVC fade in Australian sun?
Novalite uses UV-stable laminations that are specifically formulated for Australian conditions. The colour and grain appearance will remain consistent for decades under normal Australian UV exposure. This is a key difference from paint or stain on real timber, which breaks down rapidly under intense UV and heat.
What timber look colours are available from Novalite?
Novalite offers timber look finishes including golden oak, natural oak, rosewood, mahogany and anthracite woodgrain. These can be applied to any of our window or door styles. The interior can be a different finish from the exterior, allowing timber aesthetics inside with a white or grey exterior for kerb appeal.
Can timber look uPVC windows be BAL rated for bushfire zones?
Yes. Novalite is one of very few manufacturers in Australia offering BAL-rated timber look uPVC windows and doors. The bushfire rating is determined by the glass specification and hardware, not the frame colour or finish. Our timber look products are available in BAL 12.5, BAL 19 and BAL 29 configurations, making them suitable for bushfire-prone properties that also want timber aesthetics.
Is timber look uPVC more expensive than standard white uPVC?
Timber look uPVC does carry a premium over standard white, reflecting the cost of the woodgrain lamination. However, the price difference is much smaller than you might expect, and when you factor in zero lifetime maintenance costs — no painting, no staining, no sanding every 5-10 years — timber look uPVC is more economical than real timber over any 10-year period.
